Vella Mae's Story
PETERSTOWN, WV Vella Mae "Tince" Broyles, 99, of Peterstown, WV, departed this life early Sunday morning, May 21, 2017, at Country View Assisted Living in Peterstown, WV. Lovingly known as "Tince", she was born on September 17, 1917, to Rev. Carl Dunn and Vernie Ball Dunn.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Frank Lowry; her second husband, Garnet J. "Bus" Broyles; three sisters, Gladys Poff, Ruth McClaugherty, and Mildred Reed.
Tince was a member of Ballard Missionary Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School. She had a generous heart, loved to crochet afghans and give them to others.
Those who will forever cherish her memory are, special caregivers Merl and Carol Snider; three nieces, Madeline Collins, Mabel McClaugherty, and Patty Warburton; two nephews, Dan McClaugherty and Andy Reed; a host of friends; and her adopted family and friends who gave her such special care at Country View Assisted Living.
Services to celebrate Vella's life will be Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at 2:00 PM at Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home in Peterstown, WV, with a Eulogy given by Dusti Snider and Wayne Sibold. Burial will follow at the Ballard Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Ballard, WV. Pallbearers will be Don Raines, Mike Gillespie, Burke Gammon, Wayne Sibold, Mike Warburton, and Derek Snider.
Friends may call from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at the funeral home.
