Truman White Truman White, 85 years of age of Grundy, VA, passed away Sunday, August 27, 2017 at his home following an extended illness. Born in Jolo, WV, he was the son of the late Arthur and Arminda Church White. He was a longtime resident of Buchanan County and was a member of Grundy Church of Christ. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and was a retired Coal Miner and member of UMWA Local Union 1374, Beatrice Pocahontas.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva Ward White; his parents, Arthur and Arminda Church White; 1-Daughter: Carolyn Hurley; 1-Sister: Ella Mae Lewis; and 1-Grandson: Russell Todd White.
Those left to cherish his memory include 1-Daughter: Debra (Michael) Smith, Grundy, VA; 4-Sons: Doug (Mona) White, Abingdon, VA, Dennis (Vicky) White, Grundy, VA, Darrell (Jackie) White, North Tazewell, VA, Wayne White, Grundy, VA; 1-Sister: Leona Gibson, Beckley, WV; 2-Brothers: Eulice White, Hendersonville, NC, Homer Lee White, Lebanon, VA.
Also, survived by 6-Granddaughters, 4-Step-Grandchildren and 8-Great-Grandchildren.
Funeral Services for Truman White will be conducted Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Evg. Dennis Wimmer and Evg. Hobert Kennedy officiating. Entombment to follow in Clinch Valley Memorial Cemetery, Richlands, VA.
Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Tuesday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M.
Active Pallbearers will be Elders and Deacons of Grundy Church of Christ.
The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be made in the form of Donations to Grundy Church of Christ, P.O. Box 109, Grundy, VA 24614 and the Poplar Creek Church of Christ, 4128 Poplar Creek Rd., Grundy, VA 24614.
