BLUEFIELD Treva Pearl Harman, 88, of Littlesburg Road, passed away on February 22, 2018, from complications due to endometrial cancer and advanced age.
She was born May 5, 1929 in New Lebanon, Ohio and was the daughter of the late Oakey Milton Bowes and Ruby Hypes Bowes Cole. She was the wife of the late James Lee Harman. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Ranny and Hayes and a daughter-in law, Mary Bailey Harman.
She was a member of Smith's Chapel Church of the Brethren and attended Sandlick Baptist Church. She was a faithful attendee of the West Virginia State Fair having attended it 67 years in a row. She retired from the Maidenform Company after 38 years of service. She was an avid gardener and loved raising a garden and preserving food. She always had a vast assortment canned meats and vegetables plus 4 chest freezers of frozen foods she had preserved.
She is survived by a sister, Janie Elizabeth (Dorothy) of Princeton, one brother, Billy and wife Darlene of Chesapeake, VA; A half-sister, Geraldine and husband John Johnston of Bluefield, VA and one half-brother Joe and wife Esther of Bastian, VA; also surviving is one son Larry and wife Marilyn of Lehi, Utah, a sister-in-law Gertrude Ann Bowes of Midlothian, VA; Five grandchildren, Jeryl Harman, Candace Blaser, Jeremy Harman, Holly Hamilton and Marianne Harman; Seven step-grandchildren; Nineteen great-grandchildren, and Fifteen step-great grandchildren. She is also survived by a special niece, Dana Bowes, of Littlesburg and a host of other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Treva Pearl Harman will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, February 26, 2018 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with members of her family conducting the services.
Friends may visit with the family Sunday, February 25, 2018 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home with members of her family conducting the services.
