Thelma Cordill, age 89, of Cedar Bluff, Virginia, passed away Friday, May 26, 2017 at Claypool Hill, Virginia.
She was born in Raven, Virginia and was the daughter of the late Dewey and Sadie Shortt Absher.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to all who knew and loved her. She loved to crochet and loved children. She was a Christian all of her life and attended Trinity Assembly in Cedar Bluff, Virginia.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Cordill; grandson, Kevin Jack Stallard, II; sister, Dorothy Absher; and brother, Earl Junior Absher.
Survivors are: Daughters: Patricia Stallard and husband, Kevin of Cedar Bluff, Virginia, Shelia Ketron of Richlands, Virginia; Son: Harold Cordill and wife, Linda of Bland, Virginia; Sisters: Doris Davis and husband, Buford of Pounding Mill, Virginia, Ruby Hylton of Pounding Mill, Virginia; Brothers: Hurley Absher of Pounding Mill, Virginia, Charlie Absher of Pounding Mill, Virginia, Troy Absher and wife, Pauline of Cliffield, Virginia, Darrell Absher of Tazewell, Virginia; Five Grandchildren: Cody Stallard, David Boyd, Denise Griffith, Chad Cordill, and Tonya Cordill. Several Great Grandchildren and Great Great Grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services for Thelma Cordill will be conducted Monday, May 29, 2107 at 7pm at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Doug Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at 11am Tuesday at Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Virginia. Those attending the committal service are asked to be at the funeral home by 10:30am. Relatives and friends will serve as pallbearers.
