Stoner Moore Parsons, 89, of Princeton, West Virginia passed away on Monday October 30, 2017.
A visitation will be held Friday, November 3rd from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 4th at Princeton Presbyterian Church with burial to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Princeton, West Virginia.
Stoner was born in Charleston, West Virginia on August 6, 1928. He graduated from Stonewall Jackson High School and continued on to receive his Bachelor and Masters degrees in Physical Education from West Virginia University (WVU), where he played football for the WVU Mountaineers from 1947 to 1951. Stoner and his family enjoyed living in Spencer, West Virginia while he was employed by Burke, Parsons, and Bowlby. Stoner was an entrepreneur and founded Acme Wood Preserving in 1974 in Princeton, West Virginia. After his success with Acme, he went on to start CCC Wood in 1983, which is located in Elkin, NC. Stoner never stopped being active in his businesses; retirement was not a word in his vocabulary. He was a devoted, lifelong fan of the WVU Mountaineers and you could often find him and his wife cheering loudly at a game. Stoner was also a member of Princeton Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Regetta J.Parsons, and daughters, Christy Parsons Presseau (husband Jeff), Sandy Parsons Garrett (husband Jack), and Lynn Parsons Hobbs (husband Bruce). He was an adoring grandfather to 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, who he loved to hear sing and play. His work and family have been the joys of his life.
