HORSEPEN, Va. — Shirley Farley Myers, 81 of Horsepen, VA died Monday, March 20, 2017 at Princeton Community Hospital. Born May 24, 1935 at Pocahontas, VA, she was the daughter of the late Silas and Adelean Hilton Farley. She graduated from Pocahontas High School in 1953 and went to work for Bluefield Telephone Company. Mrs. Myers later worked for the Postal Service for 21 years and was Postmaster at Horsepen Post Office for 14 ½ years. She was a member of Horsepen Church of Christ where she taught Ladies Bible Class for over 40 years. She enjoyed attending church, painting, reading, sewing, and being with family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, George, Jerry, and Silas "Sonny" Farley, Jr.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Carroll B. "C.B." Myers; sons, Mike Myers and wife, Violet of Cape Canaveral, FL and Tim Myers and wife, Mary of the Witten's Mill community in North Tazewell, VA; grandchildren, Michael Myers, Jr. and wife, Leanne, Michelle Maculuso and husband, Nick, Brandon, Tyler, and Hayley Myers; great grandchildren, Christian, Anthony, and Vincent Maculuso.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM Friday, March 24, 2017 at Peery & St.Clair Funeral Home in Tazewell, VA where funeral services will be conducted at 2 PM with Walter Switzerlett officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA.
