Shirley's Story

Shirley Ann Coe, age 72, of Raven, VA passed away Thursday, June 22, 2017 at her home following a lengthy illness.
Shirley was born in Richlands, VA and was the daughter of the late Emory and Macy Osborne Horton of Tazewell County. She was a 1964 graduate of Honaker High School and was a former employee of Eastern Isles. She also delivered the intercompany mail for BB&T Bank. She lived all her life in the Raven area. She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Coe; and brothers, Earl and Mackie Horton.
She is survived by: Her Daughter: Crystal Lewis-Sawyer and husband, Kirven of Wichita, KS; Special Friend and Companion, Wayne French; Fur baby, "Buddie"; Sisters: Mrs. Audrey Null of Shortt Gap, VA, Mrs. Peggy Plaster of Raven, VA, Mrs. Ellen Coutu and husband, Ray of Clearmont, FL; Brothers: Al Horton and wife, Ruby of Shortt Gap, VA, Ronnie Horton and wife, Barbara of Shortt Gap, VA, Danny Horton and wife, Karen of Shortt Gap, VA; Grandchildren: Sean O'Neill, Macy O'Neill, Abby O'Neill, Ashley Sawyer.

Funeral services for Shirley Ann Coe will be conducted at 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, VA with the Rev. Eddie Hess and Rev. David Horton officiating. Interment will follow at Chambers Family Cemetery at Shortt Gap, VA. Nephews and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 6 - 9 pm on Monday evening at the funeral home.
