Sandra Leigh's Story

Text size

Sandra Leigh Chizmar Rossouw (7/9/72-4/1/2017) passed away peacefully after a courageous, painful and private struggle with cancer. She overcame cancer in 2016 but it came back suddenly and aggressively in February. Sandy loved life and lived it to the fullest. She loved her family more than anything, always concerned about their health and happiness. She had a joyful spirit that everyone loved and she always thought of others before herself. She lived her life in the way we all wish we could: bringing help, joy & delight to others.
Sandy grew up in Bluewell graduating from Bluefield HS, and later attended East Tennessee State in Johnson City, TN where she qualified as a Dental Hygienist. She worked for Dr. Lloyd Lawrence DDS in Richardson, TX for the past 18 years where she also developed a close bond with her co-workers. She was loved by her loyal patients and every day came home talking about one of her favorites.
A devoted Daughter, Sister, Aunt, Wife and Step-Mother Sandy is survived by her parents: Ernest and Dorothy Chizmar; her brother Michael Chizmar, sister-in-law Sandi Chizmar, Sister Patricia Shaffer, brother-in-law Frank Shaffer, nieces Katie Shaffer, Melanie Butler & Kristin Chizmar and nephew John Shaffer; her husband Marc Rossouw and step daughters Kristin & Samantha Rossouw.
A devoted Christian, Sandy has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations in her name be made to Grace Presbyterian Church (4300 Park Blvd, Plano TX 75093).
Please join us for a celebration of Sandy's life on Monday April, 10 at 6pm at Grace Presbyterian followed by burial at Ridgeview West memorial park (12130 peaceful lane, Frisco TX)
