LERONA Ruth Furrow Atkinson, 87, of Moonglow Drive, Lerona went to meet her Lord and Savior Wednesday night, February 7, 2018 at her home with her loving family at her side.
Born September 10, 1930 at Gary, she was the daughter of the late Jessie Lewis and Stella Irene Wiggins Furrow.
Ruth was a graduate of Gary High School and a lifelong member of the Pentecostal Holiness Faith.
She will be remembered for being a devoted pastor's wife and loving mother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six siblings: Agnes Huff, Margie Hawks, Dorothy Sparks, Gertrude Furrow, J.L. Furrow Jr. and Rev. Ray Furrow.
Those left to cherish her memory, her faithful and loving husband of 64 years, Rev. Thomas Edward "Tom" Atkinson Sr.; One son Thomas Edward Atkinson Jr. and wife B.J.; Three grandchildren, Tripp, Gabriel & Caroline Atkinson; Five siblings, William "Toby" Furrow, Velma Gilliam and husband Bobby, Malcolm Furrow and wife Dorothy, Clifton Furrow and wife Shirley, Rev. Paul Furrow and wife Shirley; several nieces and nephews.
Services of celebration for the life of Ruth Atkinson will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 10, 2018 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with her family officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.
Friends may visit with the family Saturday from 1:00 P.M. until the service hour at the funeral home.
