Roy Baker, 65, of Princeton died Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at his home. Born April 12, 1952 in Fleming, Kentucky he was the son of the late Willie Baker and Iva Fields Baker. He was a member and deacon of Hiawatha Baptist Church. After moving to Buffalo Creek he began working for Pittston Coal Company. He retired after experiencing health issues. He later moved to Princeton with his wife, Goldie, where he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Roy enjoyed life and never met a stranger.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Goldie Woolum Baker; three children, Amy Baker of Man, Roy Baker, Jr. and wife Chrissi of Morgantown and Willie Baker and wife Amanda of Morgantown; two stepsons, Darren Lester and wife Kim of North Carolina and Allen Lester of Princeton; two foster sons, Danny Moore and wife Ruthie of Man and Benny Wingler of Hinton; one brother, Gary Baker and wife Linda of Mooresburg, Tennessee and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 31, 2017 at the Rowland H. Bailey Funeral Chapel with Pastor David Lee and Pastor Malcom Riggins officiating.
Friends may visit with the family from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, August 31 at Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton.
