PRINCETON — Roger Lee Thomason, 70 of Highpoint Lane, Princeton died Monday, April 10, 2017 in the Princeton Community Hospital.
Born in Grundy, Virginia on May 27, 1946 he was the son of the late Troy Lee Thomason and Grace Diana Blankenship Thomason.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, infant Douglas and Ben Thomason. Roger was a coal miner for 38 years having owned, operated and eventually retired as an electrician in the mines. He was a member of the UMWA and was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed fishing and was a collector of Antique Cars. Roger proudly served his country with the US Air Force.
Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Lora Zane Cline Thomason. Two sons, Troy Thomason and his wife Leslie of Petersburg and Jason Thomason and his wife Rebe of Elkton, MD; One grandson, Joe Thomason also of Elkton, MD; Sister, Janet Lambert of Midlothian, VA; Brother in law, Jimmy Cline of Iaeger; Several Nieces and Nephews.
Services to celebrate the life of Roger Thomason will held at 6:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at the Chuck Mathena Center in Princeton with Pastor Mitchell Estep and Pastor Randal Dority officiating. Inurnment will be in the Palm Memorial Gardens in Matheny. The family will receive friends immediately following the service on Saturday.
