Robert Wayne's Story
Robert Wayne (Bob) Kinder, 69, of Bluefield, VA, passed away November 21, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, Junior Lee and Elizabeth Tolbert Kinder; brothers, Jack and William (Bill) Kinder; and son, David Kinder.
Survivors include his wife, Lynn McGlothlin Kinder; daughters, Cynthia Kinder Parker, of Bluefield, WV, and Krysta Denise Kinder, of San Diego; stepson, Ronald Woody and wife, Lisa, of San Diego; brother, Joseph Kinder and wife, Kathy, of Reston, VA. Also surviving are three grandchildren.
Robert serviced as Lance Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps, receiving the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnamese Campaign Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with two stars; three Purple Heart Medals, the Presidential Unit Citation, and the Good Conduct Medal. He was discharged in March 1969. He was employed at Flowers Baking Company in Bluefield, WV, for 30 years, serving as Teamsters Local Union 175 Shop Steward for 18 years.
There will be no public visitation. A graveside service will be conducted by Rev. Rick Morrell at Maple Hill Cemetery, Bluefield, VA, on Monday, November 27, at 2 p.m., with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Military rites will be conducted by the Bluefield, VA VFW #9696.
Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at Maple Hill Cemetery by 1:45 P.M. on Monday.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project, or to your preferred charity.
