Robert's Story

Robert D. East, 81, of Princeton, died Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at home.
Born on April 1, 1936 in McDowell County, he was a son of the late Everette and Mary Crouch East. He had been a resident of Princeton for 51 years and was a retired chief electrician for Eastern Associated Coal Company. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Princeton Elks, and was a member of the Grand Lodge of WV AF&AM, Princeton Lodge #134, Knights Templar, Royal Arch Mason, and the Beni-Kedem Shrine.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Jo Ann East; and sister, Peggy Norris.
Survivors include: Wife: Carolyn McKenzie of Princeton. Daughter: Cheryl East Senker of Houston, TX. Grandson: Samuel East Senker of Houston, TX. Brothers: Richard East and Everette "Jeep" East and wife Wilma of Bluewell. Brother in law: Alan Dean Norris of Bluewell, Ronald Hamlin of Pembroke, VA, Donald Hamlin of Princeton.
He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
He also loved his beloved dog, "Harley".
Graveside services will be conducted on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton with Rev. Scott Sears officiating. Masonic rites will be conducted by the Princeton Masonic Lodge #137.
Those wishing to attend services are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 100 Center Street, Princeton, WV 24740.
