Robert's Story

Robert C. Cordle, 80 passed away un-expectantly on Friday, August 11, 2017, Robert was the son of the late Donna Renfro and Fred B. Cordle. Born in Richlands, VA he lived most of his life in the Hampton Road area of northern Virginia. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, Harold, Glenn, Daniel and Fred Cordle. And sisters, Gladys Plaster, Billie Griffith and Shirley Mabe.
Known to his family as "Bob", he is survived by sons, Craig Cordle, Jerry Cordle and Thomas Osborne; grandchildren, Isa, Kayla, Jesse P., Keely, Ashton, Christopher, Jason and Jesse. He is also survived by his brother Norman Cordle of Richlands, VA and a host of nieces and nephews.
Robert retired as a supervisor from Newport News Shipbuilding. He loved to hunt, fish, play cards, dance and travel. He resided in both the mountains of Virginia and the low lands of Florida. He attended the Green Valley Methodist Church in Bastian, and had been a member of the American Legion, Loyal order of the Moose and the Progressive Club.
At Bob's request, in lieu of flowers a contribution in his memory may be made to the Disabled American Veterans or to the American Heart Association.
A graveside memorial service will be held in his honor on Saturday, September 30th at the Hankins Cemetery in Richlands, Virginia.
