Ralph Day, 70, of New Hope Road, Bluefield, WV, formerly of Coalwood, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at his home.
Born on September 29, 1946 in Jolo, he was a son of the late James and Irene Hicks Day of Caretta. He was a coal miner for 35 years with Olga Coal Company and several other mining companies. He also served our country for 4 years in the US Army. He attended Deliverance Temple in Brushfork.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Thurman and Arnold Day; and sisters, Wanda Warner and Wilma Willahm.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Cloia Hatfield Day of the home; daughter, Donnetta Muncy and husband Charlie of Princeton; grandchildren, Tori Reed of Princeton, Jacob Muncy of Bluewell; four sisters, Trudy Kennedy, Thelma Lambert, Geri Dameron, and Phyllis Russell; three brothers, Melvin Day, Ray Day, and Ernest Day; a special buddy, Kole Atwood of Peterstown, whom Ralph loved and cherished; a host of nieces, nephews, friends and family.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the Deliverance Temple Church in Brushfork with Rev. David Kirby and Rev. Dave Lusk officiating.
Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Military honors will be performed by the Mercer County Veterans Honor Guard.
Friends may call on Saturday from 12:00-2:00PM at the church.
