MATOAKA Phyllis Jean Conner, 78, of Matoaka died Thursday, November 2, 2017 at her home. Born February 3, 1939 at Matoaka she was the daughter of the late Ray Mills and Eupha Farmer Mills.
She attended the Lashmeet Church of God where she played the organ for many years. She enjoyed her flower garden and feeding her birds.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Conner in 2007.
Survivors include five sons, Donald "Skip" Conner, Jr. of Matoaka, Michael L. Conner and wife Julie of Matoaka, Ricky A. Conner of Silver Lake, Wisconsin, Ted O. Conner of Lashmeet and Shawn B. Conner and wife Vonda of Bluefield; one brother, Ray "Shorty" Mills and wife Joan of Kegley; 11 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at the Rowland H. Bailey Funeral Chapel with Rev. Tom Carpenter, officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may visit with the family from 6-8 p.m. Monday, November 6 at the funeral home.
