PRINCETON Pauline Kendall Proffit, 88, of Straley Avenue, Princeton died late Thursday, November 16, 2017 at Mercer Nursing & Rehab in Bluefield.
Born August 13, 1929 at Wilco, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Mitchell & Martha Stephenson Mitchell.
Pauline was a graduate of Gary High School and retired from Princeton Community Hospital. After her retirement from the hospital, Pauline will be remembered as being a caregiver for many families in and around the area. She was of the Baptist faith and a loving and caring wife & mother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband Claude Everett Kendall, a daughter Carol Joyce Kendall along with six siblings: Lewis, Vander Max, Charlie, Gordon, Joseph & Samuel Mitchell Jr.
Survivors include her husband of 46 years, William L. Proffit of Princeton, two sons: Vander R. "Randy" Kendall & wife Janice, Claude L. "Corky" Kendall & wife Katheryn, 5 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren & 3 great great grandchildren. A host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday, November 20, 2017 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Norman Arrington officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.
Friends may visit with the family Monday from 1:00 P.M. until the service hour at the funeral home.
