Pauline Frances's Story
Pauline Frances Smith Hoops, 81 of Daleville, Virginia died Saturday, January 6, 2018, peacefully surrounded by her 3 loving daughters and family as Amazing Grace played. She was a fighter, laying to rest her husband and daughter over the years, a survivor of breast cancer and the solid foundation of the family. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Beulah Smith of Bluefield, VA. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Billy Jo Hoops and her daughter, Tammy Hoops Mokas.
She was a loving, dedicated Norfolk Southern railroad wife. She was active in the N & W Garden Club. She moved to Botetourt County along with her husband and family in 1984 and established strong ties to that area. She always had a love for Ocean Isle Beach.
She is survived by her daughters, Sheila Hoops Stanek and husband Alex, Melinda Hoops Freday and husband Raymond and Bethany Hoops Tyree and husband Jeffrey; grandchildren, Justin Stanek and fiance' Christopher Wright, Kaylan Mokas, Eric Stanek, Cameron Mokas, Alyssa Stanek, Aaron Freday, Jeremy Freday and Isabella Frances Tyree, named after her beloved Mimi.
Funeral services will be 10 A.M. Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Oakey's North Chapel with Pastor Ethan Callison officiating. Burial will follow at 2:00 P.M. at Grandview Memorial Gardens, Bluefield, VA.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 from 2 to 4 P.M. and 6 to 8 P.M. at Oakey's North Chapel.
