Oscar's Story

PRINCETON Oscar "Jay" Remines, Jr., 69, of Princeton, died Friday, August 18, 2017. Born December 22, 1947 at Bluefield, he was the son of the late Oscar J. "Doc" Remines and Mildred V. "Mickey" Proffitt Remines.
Mr. Remines was a graduate of Princeton High School. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps in Vietnam as a Sergeant. He later joined his family business at Remines Welding in Princeton. He was a member of Burke Memorial Baptist Church in Princeton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Bill Remines.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Jackson Remines; one son, Dr. Michael Remines and wife Heather of Princeton; one step-son, Roger Goforth and two step-grandchildren, Trey and Jackson Goforth all of Rock Hill, SC.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Larry Dyer officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Mercer County Veterans Honor Guard. The body will be cremated following the service.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 22, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until service hour at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton.
