Ola Spencer PINOAK Ola Bailey Spencer, 104, of Pinoak, died at her home on Wednesday, August 8, 2018. Born May 4, 1914 in Pinoak, she was the daughter of the late Luther Greene Bailey and Mary Frances Via Bailey.
Mrs. Spencer was a graduate of Hinton Nursing School. She was a registered nurse and her career spanned four decades, including St. Luke's Hospital in Bluefield, General Hospital in Mexia, Texas and retiring from Summers County Hospital in Hinton. She was a member of Cook's Chapel in Pinoak and the Lashmeet Ruritan Club. She was a quilter, and painter. She enjoyed needlework and loved flowers and gardening.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three husbands, Elbert W. Sneed, Paul Williams and Johnny Spencer; one daughter, Judith Marilyn Sneed; three brothers, Dewitt, Leroy and Edward Bailey; four sisters, Lena Ruth Bailey, Delores Lindsay, Imogene Scott and Ramona Heslep; and one great granddaughter, Shana Addair.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Jean Tiller of Lashmeet and Lucretia Spencer of Princeton; several step-children, including one special step-daughter, Nina Williams Olson of Robinson, TX; four grandchildren, Irwin Scott Tiller and wife Rhonda of Lashmeet, Mary Phillips and husband Eddie of Summersville, Eric Spencer of Nashville, IL and Todd Spencer and wife Debi of Fairview Heights, IL; six great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 11, 2018 at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Larry Cecil officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Princeton.
The family will receive friends Friday, August 10, 2018 from 7-9 p.m. at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton.
