Norman Shoda, 75, of Princeton died Monday, December 18, 2017 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley. Born August 14, 1942 at Piedmont he was the son of the late Jack Shoda and Myrtle Lusk Shoda.
He was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church in Princeton. He retired from Consol where he was an assistant foreman. Norman was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers, Thomas Shoda, Jay Shoda, Buddy Shoda and Pete Shoda and one sister, Cephes Hurley.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Joyce Cecil Shoda; one son, Ron Shoda and wife Lisa of Princeton; two grandsons, Jonathan Shoda and Matthew Shoda of Princeton; two brothers, Alton Shoda and wife Delores of Melbourne, Florida and Steven Shoda and wife Virginia of Green Cove Springs, Florida and two sisters, Mary Reynolds and husband John of Bayville, New Jersey and Brookie Ann Gregory of Charlotte Hall, Maryland.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Maranatha Baptist Church in Princeton with Rev. Marvin Mills officiating. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park in Princeton. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Shoda, Cory Snider, Jack Archer, Tony White, Joe Carter and Bruce Cole.
Friends may visit with the family from 12:00 p.m. until the service hour at the church.
