PRINCETON - Norma Hill, 81, of Princeton died Monday, May 1, 2017 at the home of her granddaughter, Chrissy. Born January 18, 1936 at Dott, she was the daughter of the late Henry Via and Mina McKinney Via.
Norma retired from Princeton Health Care Center and attended Liberty Baptist Church in Princeton. She was an active resident of her Blue Rock community in Princeton where she had many loving friends.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one daughter Joyce Powell; four sisters, Sarah Combs, Glenna Sisk, Marlene Miller and Judy Sifford; two brothers, Henry B Via and James Bernard Via.
Survivors include two daughters, Teresa Jarvis and Robert of Lester and Donna Linkous and David of Shady Spring; one sister, Alma MacMillian of Princeton; eight grandchildren, Chrissy Powell of Princeton, Heather Wilson of Charlotte, NC, Matthew Akers of Magnolia, DE, Jamie Toler of Lester, Leigh Ann Akers of Beckley, Steven Linkous of Yuba City, CA, John Linkous of Shady Spring and Canyon Jarvis of Coolsville, OH; eight grandchildren; home caregiver and special friend, Virginia; also her beloved dog, Roxie.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 noon Friday, May 5, 2017 at the Rowland H. Bailey Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.
