Myrtle's Story

Myrtle Louise Bailey, 89 of Crumpler, WV died peacefully at her home Saturday, September 16, 2017
with her family by her side. Born June 25, 1928 in Bluefield, WV, she was the daughter of the late
George Maxwell and Alma Southerland Maxwell.
Weezie was a life long member of the Crumpler United Methodist Church Crumpler, WV. There she was
a Sunday School teacher, an M.Y.F. leader and a member of the choir. She was also one of the first
Head Start teachers in the McDowell County School Systems. She was a member of the Keystone
Rotary Quilters Club and will be remembered for being a wonderful and loving Mother, Grandmother and Great-grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Emory J. Bailey.
Those left to cherish her memory: Four sons: Kenny and Diane Bailey of Crumpler, WV, Gary and Glenda
Bailey of Buckhannon, WV, Richard and Becky Bailey of Crumpler, WV, Randy and Ranae Bailey of
Bluewell, WV. One daughter, Michelle Joyce and companion Mark Simplicio of the home. Weezie was
also blessed with 15 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren. Five siblings: Bob Maxwell of Crumpler, WV, Bill Maxwell of Columbus, OH, Jerry Maxwell of Bluefield, WV, Pat Hall of Crumpler, WV and Virginia "Honey" Nunnery of Crumpler, WV. Also, a host of nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Services will be conducted Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at 1:pm at the Crumpler United Methodist Church with Rev. Mark Smearman officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens Princeton, WV.
Visitation will be from 11:am until the hour of service at the church.
Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons.
