KYLE, WV Mrs. Idella V. Redd-Bethel, age 75, of Kyle, WV, who peacefully departed this life on Saturday, September 9, 2017 in Winston-Salem, NC, surrounded by her family and loved ones.
She was born February 14, 1942 in Powhatan, WV, and the youngest child of the late John Robert and Lula Mae (Manns) Redd. She was a life long member of Mercy Seat Baptist Church. She was known as "the Rock of the family." To her family she was a resident nurse, a farmer, a mechanic, veterinarian, chef and a carpenter, that never took any time for herself. She took care of everyone's children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, sister, brother, mother and brother-in-law. All we can say is, "Wow what a Woman!"
Along with her parents, Idella was preceded in death by her husband, SFC James Walter Bethel; three brothers: John, Thomas and Charles Redd; five sisters: Betty Jean Redd, Odessa Morgan, Regina Cabbell, Annie Wagstaff and Cora Davis.
"Boo-Boo," will be sadly missed by her daughter, Andrea Monica Bethel of the home; her son, Billy Joe Bethel of Winston-Salem; her grandchildren: Danielle Bethel, Sabrina Jones, Shamecca and Princess Perkins, Joana and Ahmed Bethel; her great-granddaughter, Aiyana Powell and a special great-grandson, who made his home with her, DeAndre Barnes; she will also be missed by her sisters, Catherine Johnson and Mayme Woody both of Fort Washington, Maryland; her special nieces, Carolyn Cabbell and Augustine Lewis and her special nephew, Bobby (Gwen) Redd, who were always by her side. Idella will be missed by a host of other nephews, nieces and cousins; other relatives and her Mercy Seat family and friends.

Interment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Gardens, on Rt. 20, Littlesburg Road in Bluewell, WV. Nephews and nieces will serve as both pallbearers and flower bearers.
