Minnie's Story

CEDAR BLUFF, Va. — Minnie Robinson Christian age 86 of Cedar Bluff, Virginia passed away Saturday, January 7, 2017 at the Clinch Valley Medical Center in Richlands, Virginia. She was born June 7, 1930 and was the daughter of the late Arthur and Nancy (Kizzie) Earls Stevenson. She was a member and former Trustee and Sunday School Teacher for many years at the Bandy Assembly of God Church at Bandy, VA. She was a great community cook.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Frank Robinson; second husband, Fred Christian; one daughter, Kathy Lawson; five brothers and three sisters. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family in her generation.
Minnie is survived by her children, Ronnie Stevenson and wife Janice of Cedar Bluff, VA; Billy Robinson and wife Carolyn of Wytheville, VA; Lisa Payne and husband Randall of Cedar Bluff, VA; Judy Short and husband Jason, Jr. of Wytheville, VA; fourteen grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and a host of friends also survive.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 9:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at Singleton Funeral Service in Cedar Bluff, Virginia. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Singleton Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Wayne Mullins, Pastor Jessie Estep and Pastor Norma Mabe officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens Cemetery at Claypool Hill, Virginia. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Don Puckett and Helping Hands Home Health.
