McGinnis "Pig" Hale

McGinnis Pig Hale McGinnis "Pig" Hale, 89 of Falls Mills, VA, passed away Thursday, November 29, 2018 at his home with his wife, children and grandchildren by his side, after a long 8 year battle with Alzheimer's. McGinnis was born in Hales Bottom, VA to the late Clarence and Louisa Carbaugh Hale. He was a member of Falls Mills Christian Church, and loved attending church. McGinnis worked several positions with the Norfolk and Western Railway for 43 years. He retired in 1989 and enjoyed working on the farm and in his garden. McGinnis also served in the 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment with the United States Army.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Charles (C.D.) Hale, Clarence (Rooster) Hale, Jr, and Sammy Hale; sister: Laura Ferguson; daughter: Lady Bird Hale; grandson: Christopher Hale; a great-grandchild, which died at birth: Abby Hale.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 69 years, Gertrude Dixon Hale; his children: McGinnis (Mac) Hale, Jr. and wife, Kimberly of Hales Bottom, VA, Michael Hale and wife, Karen of Falls Mills, VA, Mary Lou Hale of Bluefield, VA, Carolyn Varney of Forest Hills, KY and Lydia Roberts and husband, Keith of Hales Bottom, VA; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; sister: Barbara McCarty and husband, Mac of Princeton, WV.
There will be no public visitation. A grave side service will be held Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at Grandview Memory Chapel at 2:00 P.M. with Minister Frank Watkins officiating. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at Grandview Chapel no later than 1:45 P.M.
Dudley Memorial is serving the Hale family.

My condolences to the Hale family, I had the pleasure of working with his sons Mike and Mack on the railroad. Also worked for C D and McGinnis. Great family. Love all of you. Thank God for his son Jesus who made it possible for us to see our loved ones and our savior again
