Mary Geneva's Story

Mary Geneva Carroll Pauley went to be with the lord on October 31, 2017. She was born on October 6, 1944.
Geneva was a worker of Tultex Sewing, Bland Sportswear, and the Bland Nursing Facility for years. Upon her retirement, she found joy in sewing, crafting, canning, gardening and cooking. She enjoyed working with the community's youth and was always one to help others. Geneva was a loving and loyal wife, mother, and grandmother. She was dedicated to her family and proud of the home she established.
Geneva was not only a friend, but a blessing to all. Anyone that knew her was always welcomed with open arms. Her love was a gift; selfless, endless and one that will be forever cherished.
She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Lewis and Louise Carroll; Her son Cliff Pauley, sister Dorothy Drummond, brother Floyd Carroll and niece Ashlee Drummond.
Mary is survived by her loving husband Ward Pauley Jr. Sons Kevin Pauley, Brandon and wife Brittany Bailey, Lee and wife Gabrielle Bailey. Daughter Katie Bailey and Billy Hagerman. Sisters Gayle Farlow and Shelia and husband Ray Claiborne. Eight grandchildren, Isaiah, Carter, Olivia, Dakota, Taylor, Jakob, Jaxson, and Sophia; A special niece Amy Drummond; Cousins Kathy Madore and Patti Madore Booth; A close friend Johnathan Dunn and a host of special friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 3, 2017 at the Bland Funeral Chapel with Dr. Kevin Richardson, Reverend Bobby Lorton, Reverend Joe Mack Taylor and Dr. Doug Hyndrich officiating. Interment will follow in Morning Star Cemetery, Bland, VA.
The family will receive friends Thursday, November 2, 2017 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that all donations be made to Bland United Methodist Church.
