RICH CREEK, VA Mary Blanche French, age 94, of Rich Creek, VA, passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2017, at Heritage Hall in Rich Creek, VA. Born August 31, 1923, in the Lurich community of Narrows, VA, she was the daughter of the late Henry D. Robertson Sr. and Bessie Davis Robertson.
Blanche was a member of the Glen Lyn Church of Christ. She was a homemaker and a beloved mother and grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell C. French; one sister, Thelma Smith and husband Hank; two brothers, Randall Robertson and wife Shirley and H.D. Robertson, Jr. and wife Virginia; two grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth McDonald and Kent McDonald, Jr.; and one son-in-law, Jerry L. Broyles.
Those left to cherish her memory includes her daughter, Janice F. Broyles of Rich Creek, VA; special niece and nephew, Linda and Tom Robertson, both of Narrows, VA; nieces, Mary Ann Booth and husband Chris of Peterstown, WV, and Bonnie Hawley and husband Nelson of Christiansburg, VA; nephew, Dexter Blankenship and wife Karen of Florida; two step-grandchildren, Jewel Webb and husband Wayne of Elm City, NC, and Lonnie Broyles and wife Ro of Georgia; and special friends, Grace Long and family of Peterstown, WV.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM on Wednesday, November 22, 2017, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel in Peterstown, WV, with Dr. John Sauvage, Elder David Akers, and Elder Danny Meadows officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Narrows, VA.
Friends may call from 1:00 PM until time of services on Wednesday at the funeral home.
