KEGLEY Mary Eleanor Chambers, 76, of Kegley, went to meet the Lord Sunday, January 28, 2018. Born June 29, 1941 in Hinton, she was the daughter of the late Earl Crews and Nora Beatrice Basham Crews.
Mrs. Chambers was a member of Rogers Street Community Church in Princeton and attended Kegley Praise and Worship Center. She was a former employee of District Photo in Beltsville, Maryland. She was a Certified Nursing Assistant and worked with terminally ill patients in Mercer County. She enjoyed gardening.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by first husband, Alvin Ray Redden, Sr.; second husband, Roland Monte Chambers; step-son, Roland Monte Chambers, Jr.; and brothers, Ernie Crews, Irvin Crews and Richard Crews.
Survivors include children, Rebecca Stieir of Aberdeen, MD, Patricia Redden of Kegley, Alvin Ray Redden, Jr. of Independence and Sandra Davila and husband Hector of Tracy, CA; step-daughters, Leslie Chambers and Carol Murray and husband Douglas all of Las Vegas, NV; step-sons, James Chambers and wife Cindy of Baltimore, MD and Guy Chambers and wife Erin of Fairfield, PA and Brian Chambers and wife Kathy of Pennsylvania; half-sisters, Linda Ney and husband Stuart of Harrisburg, PA, Ila Barnes and husband Homer of Charleston, SC and Joy Towler and husband Danny of Martinsville, VA; half-brothers, William Bowers and Monica of Oklahoma, Don Crews and wife Carla of Hardy, VA and Van Crews and wife Li of Mount, VA; several grandchildren and step-grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastors Gene Pennington and C.T. Lilly officiating. Honoring her request, the body has been cremated.
The family will receive friends Saturday, February 3, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. until service hour at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton.
