SPANISHBURG - Mary Ellen Belcher, 83, of Spanishburg, was called home to be with Her Lord and Savior on Monday, September 4, 2017 at her home. Born December 24, 1933 at Hinton, she was the daughter of the late Albert Hill and Addie Bowers Hill. Mrs. Belcher was the definition of "true love." She loved her children and their families with every beat of her heart. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a faithful member of the Fairview Christian Community Church in Princeton. Her hobbies included gardening, canning and cooking for her family. She also loved having Brother Larry over to share a meal and fellowship along with countless friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Linden Belcher; daughter, Peggy O'Dell; son-in-law, Curtis O'Dell; four sisters, Delphia, Margaret, Rowena and Ethel; two brothers, Lacy (Bud) and Clendell; and great-grandson, Ty Monroe Howell.
Survivors include four sons, Kenny (Susie) of Concord, NC, Linden Jr. (Martha), Tommy Sr. (Gina) and Eddie Sr. (Kim) all of Charlotte, NC; three daughters, Betty Bradley (Stephen) of Cashmere, NV; Addie Reynolds (Stephen) and Debbie Howell (Dwight) all of Princeton; one brother, Wilson Hill (Betty); three sisters, Adele Owens (John), Ruth Belcher and Sadie Burney (Arthur); 14 grandchildren, Diane Threadgill (Dale), Becky Belcher (Quincy), Chasity McRorie (Mike), Melinda Dabbs (Tony), Timothy Bradley (Jessica), Crystal Hunt (Chris), Mary Ann Harman (Andy), Curtis O'Dell Jr. (Candace), Eric O'Dell, Steffan Howell, Tommy Belcher Jr. (Summer), Dawn Souza (Jason), Eddie Belcher Jr. and Lauren Belcher; 21 great-grandchildren; and special nephew, Albert Wyatt of Spanishburg whom was always there when she needed a hand.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 7, 2017 at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with Rev. Larry Dyer officiating. Interment will follow at Hill Cemetery at Pipestem State Park. Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons, Curtis O'Dell Sr., Eric O'Dell, Eddie Belcher Jr., Steffan Howell, Timothy Bradley and Tommy Belcher Jr.
The family will receive friends Thursday, September 7, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. until service hour at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton.
