Marlee's Story

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. Marlee Triplett McKinney, 89, of Knoxville, TN, died Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Park West Medical Center in Knoxville, TN.
Born in Spanishburg, WV July 30, 1927 she was the daughter of the late Dewey William and Opha Thelma Maxwell Triplett. She retired in 1993 after 25 years of service as the Center Leader for Knoxville Park and Recreation Department.
Marlee was a graduate of Spanishburg High School and WV Business College. She was formerly a member of Rich Creek Baptist Church in Spanishburg, WV. She had been a resident of Knoxville since 1960 moving there from Proctorville, OH.
In addition to her parents one son, Danzer Mark McKinney, one grandson, Donnie Hanson and one sister, Lois Gooch, preceded her in death.
Survivors include one son, Matt McKinney and wife Shirley of Knoxville; one daughter, Terri Hanson and husband Doug of Spartanburg, SC; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and five nieces, Lisa, Rebecca, Cindy, Debra and Laura.
Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 PM Saturday, April 22, 2017, at the Bowling Family Cemetery in Spanishburg with Rev. Thomas Marsh and Laura Gooch Marsh officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may call at Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton from 1:00 PM to the service hour on Saturday.
