PRINCETON — Marketta Lavern Ward, 63, of Princeton died Friday, March 17, 2017. Born May 31, 1953 in Pinoak, WV she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Anna Shrader Walker.
Marketta was a talented seamstress working at Indera Mills in Yadkinville, NC with ten years service. She attended Willowbrook Baptist Church in Princeton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Crystal Irene Ward.
Survivors include her husband of thirty seven years, Thomas Ray Ward of Princeton; four daughters, Teresa Brooks of Green Valley, Reenee Heaton of Phoenix, AZ, Patience Ward of Lindside and Samantha Ward of Princeton; nine grandchildren; seven siblings, Arlene Midkiff, Natalie Akers, and Myron Walker all of Pinoak, Ernie Walker of Ft. Myers, FL, Damon Walker, Michael Walker, and Russell Walker all of Princeton.
In keeping with Marketta's wishes her body has been cremated. A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 25, 2017 at the Willowbrook Baptist Church in Princeton with Rev. Emory Marchant and Pastor Larry Cecil officiating. Friends may call at the church from 12:30 PM until the service hour on Saturday.
