Margaret Bernadette Schlinz (Eskut), Age 97, is now with the Lord having passed away on August 19, 2017 in San Diego, CA. Her daughter, Margaret Ann Atwood and Granddaughter Lee Ann Atwood, were at her side.
She was born on February 16, 1920 in Pocahontas, VA, the daughter of Hungarian Immigrants, Frank and Catherine Eskut. She had nine brothers and sisters, all are now deceased. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard (Dick) Schlinz, in 1984.
In addition to her daughter, she leaves behind, son-in-law William E. Atwood, Sr., formerly of Tazewell, VA., four Grandchildren, ten Gt. Grandchildren, four Gt. Grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and friends, all very special to her. Still looking for their Grandma are Vinny and Rosie, two of the many "fur babies" she loved and cared for, past and present. As her Daughter, I am very grateful to family and friends for brightening her days with their visits, calls, cards, and mementos they gave to her as the years passed.
Thank you to special friends in Norfolk, VA, her childhood girlfriend's daughter in Ohio, Karen, that made a special trip to CA to meet her Mother's best friend as a child and Pauline and Joy (Jeeter) in Princeton, West VA, for their devotion to my mother. She was never alone.
Services will be at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church, Pocahontas, VA, on November 8, 2017, at 1:00 PM, followed by a graveside service at Grandview Memory Gardens, Bluefield, VA.
Following burial, a gathering of friends and family will return to St Elizabeth's to share memories and a luncheon.
