Mallie's Story

Mallie Montrosse Compton, 99, of Princeton, formerly of Matoaka, died Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Ridge Care Assisted Living in Princeton. Born February 24, 1918 in Widemouth, WV she was the daughter of the late Carl Montrosse and Annie Clisso Montrosse. Mallie was a former owner/operator of Compton's Feed Store in Matoaka and formerly employed at Cutlip's Lawn and Garden in Princeton. She was a member of the Ashworth Memorial United Methodist Church in Matoaka and had been a resident of Princeton for thirty seven years moving here from Matoaka.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Compton; infant daughter, Margaret Ann Compton; nine siblings, Barbara, John, Frank, Angelo, Tony, Dominick, Joe, Josephine, and Mike; and son-in-law, Ed Clark.
Survivors include one daughter, Lee Clark of Princeton; two grandchildren, Erich Clark and wife Brittany of Ormond Beach, FL and Adrian Clark and wife Krista of Mt. Pleasant, SC; three great grandchildren, Dalton Clark, Savannah Clark, and Christian Edward Clark; and one brother, Salvatore "Carl" Aurrichio and wife Carolyn of Beckley.
Memorial services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Friday, March 31, 2017 at the George W. Seaver Chapel of Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with Rev. Larry Dyer officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until the service hour on Friday.
