Lula Elizabeth's Story
BLUEFIELD Lula Elizabeth Buckner Hardin, 96 of The Maples in Bluefield passed peacefully Monday morning, January 22, 2018 following a long illness.
Born June 27, 1921 in Franklin County, VA, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Henry & Lydia Margret Green Sloane. She was retired from Tultex Corporation in Bastian, VA.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands James Motendee Buckner, Sr. & George Colvin Hardin, sons Herman Buckner and Daniel Buckner; son in law Richard Myers; sisters Susie Sloane Beckner Matheny and Ida Sloane Yopp; and brothers William, Harry & John Sloane.
She is survived by daughters Brenda Buckner Myers & Belinda Buckner Dillow both of Princeton; sons and daughters in law, James & Rita Buckner Jr. of Bland, VA, Robert & Geraldine Buckner of Bluefield, Earl Thomas & Kathy Buckner of Lexington, NC and Alton Buckner of Garden City, MI; 18 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 24, 2018 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Mark Pennington officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.
Friends may visit with the family Wednesday from Noon until the service hour at the funeral home.
