Lula B.'s Story
SPANISHBURG Lula B. "Lou" Maxwell, 82, of Spanishburg, died early Monday morning, November 20, 2017 at Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley.
Born November 5, 1935 at English, she was the daughter of the late Edward Jones and Susie Henderson Jones.
Lou was a graduate of Princeton High School and was of the Baptist Faith. She was a retired employee of Kroger Company in Princeton with 37 years of service and worked at "Is Half Enough" in Princeton for the past 10 years.
She was devoted to her family and especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Bennie O. Maxwell, and ten brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her three children: William E. "Bill" Maxwell and wife Kelly of Ferrum VA, Jeanette Renee Shrader of Spanishburg, Bennie O. Maxwell Jr. and wife Teresa of Beckley; Seven grandchildren, Two step-grandchildren, Six great-grandchildren and Two step-great-grandchildren; One brother, Carl Ray Jones and wife Edith, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Services to celebrate Lou's life will be held 6:00 PM Wednesday, November 22, 2017 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton. Following the services, the family will honor her request, she will be cremated, and later, inurnment in the Bowling Cemetery at Spanishburg.
Friends may visit with the family Wednesday from 5:00 PM until the service hour at the funeral home.
