Logan Matthew Kidd


Logan Matthew Kidd, age 22, of Havaco, was taken to heaven on angel wings Wednesday, June 5, 2019 in Coalwood.
Born May 21, 1997 in Welch, he was the son of Amy Lynn Stroupe Chinsolo and husband Scotty of Welch and the late Jackie Lee Kidd, Jr. Logan was blessed with a heart transplant at the age of 13 that gave him eight more years to be with his family. Logan lived his life to the fullest, but said "Mom, I'm tired", so it was time for him to go to his heavenly home.
Logan was a 2016 graduate of Mount View High School and he attended Concord University. He loved to travel anywhere, any time. He liked to spend time with family and friends and loved to smile and laugh. Logan was his sister's rock. He loved his dog "Maci" and liked to play games. Logan was a very good-hearted person and would help anyone.
In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his Great Grandfather, Richard Stroupe, Jr. and his Great Grandfather, Harold Johnson, Sr., and a special cousin, Ian Patrick Stroupe.
He is survived by in addition to his mother; one sister, Haley Kidd of Bradshaw; his Maternal Grandparents, David and Vicki Stroupe of Havaco, his Paternal Grandparents, Jackie Kidd of Welch and Drema Lester of Princeton; Great Grandmothers, Bonnie Stroupe of Havaco and Betty Johnson of Abingdon, VA; an uncle David Stroupe and wife Joie and their children Chloe and D.W. Stroupe of Roderfield; a special person in Logan's life, Travis Bates, his other half and best friend; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. He was getting ready for a special nephew "Bently".
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, June 10, 2019 at 12 Noon from the Wilcoe Church of God in Wilcoe, with Pastor Ronald Felts officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Bluewell.
Friends may call at the church on Monday from 11 am to 12 Noon.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
The Douglas Mortuary is serving the Kidd family.
