LaVonne Kinser

LaVonne Kinser, born January 12, 1955, and a lifelong resident of the Clearfork Community, Tazewell, VA, took flight from this Earthly Plain on Thursday, November 16, 2017.
Like the hummingbirds she loved to feed and watch, and now freed from her earthly restrictions, LaVonne is darting about, reconnecting with her parents and siblings that made their transition ahead of her.
LaVonne was the daughter and youngest child of the late Luther (Dick) and Georgia Fox Kinser.
After graduation from Tazewell High School in 1973, LaVonne made her home with her family. She spent countless hours volunteering at Tazewell Community Hospital, participating in fund raising activities for the American Cancer Society, and making favors for the residents of Tazewell Heritage Hall.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in her departure by brothers James, Bob, and Sam Kinser, plus her sister, best buddy, and permanent shadow, Nancye K. Howell. Three of LaVonne's favorite pets also preceded her in her outbound flightWonderful the cat who fearlessly bounced around in LaVonne's bicycle basket, Kelly the parakeet that she taught to speak in a squeaky little voice, plus her long-time fur baby, Muffin, who earned the right to sleep on the couch.
Survivors include her brother, Ed Kinser and his wife Joanie; sisters in law, Madeline Kinser, Agnes Kinser, and Jill Kinser; brother-in-law, Merle Howell; twelve nephews and nieces, Kyle Kinser, Robert Kinser, Eva Dotson, Joey Kinser, Jan Kitts, Dave Kinser, Scott Kinser, Keith Kinser, Steve Kinser, Joan Sargent, Susan Childress, and Richard Kinser. Additional survivors include 30 great nephews and great nieces, plus a host of cousins and friends.
Arrangements and cremation are by Peery and St. Clair Funeral Home in Tazewell, VA.
A Celebration of Life service led by Pastor Danny Whitt will be held at the Funeral Home at 11 am Saturday, November 25, 2017. Visitation will be during the hour before the service. Interment will be private, at a later date, at Grandview Memory Gardens, Bluefield, VA.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105), Mary's Evangelical Presbyterian Church (c/o Joanne Young, 228 Carmel Drive, Tazewell, VA 24651), or Chestnut Grove Christian Church (c/o Darlene Blackburn, 1260 Burton Hollow Road, Tazewell, VA 24651).
