Larry Choate, 72 of Mercer Nursing and Rehab Center in Bluefield died Friday, November 10, 2017 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center in Bluefield. Born in Vivian, WV June 17, 1945 he was the son of the late Harold and Phyllis Tibbs Choate.
Larry was a disabled veteran who proudly served his country on two tours of duty in Vietnam while serving in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Carr Memorial United Methodist Church in Glenwood in Princeton.
Survivors include one daughter, Terri Green of Dothan, AL; two grandchildren, Sydney Green and Logan Green; one sister, Ann C. Lee and her husband James of Chesapeake, VA and one brother, Pastor Terry Choate and wife Elisabeth of Athens, WV.
Services to celebrate the life of Larry will be conducted 7:00 PM Tuesday, November 14, 2017, at the George W. Seaver Chapel in Princeton with his brother, Pastor Terry Choate officiating and the Mercer County Veterans Honor Guard providing Military Honors. Burial will be in the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin, VA later in the week.
