Judith Knox Johnson


CORNELIUS, NC - Judith Knox Johnson, 85, of Cornelius, NC and formerly of Bluefield, WV died Thursday, June 6, 2019. Born in Bluefield on November 15, 1933 she was a daughter of the late Bernard W. Knox and Louise V. Snead Knox.
Judith was a 1951 graduate of Beaver High School and worked for First Community Banks from 1957 until her retirement in 1996 with most of those years in the Trust Division. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Bluefield, VA and enjoyed reading and Bridge.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Dallas M. Johnson and a son Timothy Knox Johnson.
Surviving are her son Todd M. Johnson of Cornelius, NC; sister: Jo Anne C. Yost of Bluefield, WV and nieces, Carol Richardson of Hickory, NC, Vickie and Harold (Skip) Moore of Richmond, KY, Chris and Rev. George Bulson of Christiansburg, VA and Deb Webb of Bluefield, WV.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at Mercer Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 PM with Rev. George Bulson officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Princeton, WV. Pallbearers: Jim Simon, Jimmy Simon, II, Fred Simon, David Richardson, Chuck Lambert and Joe Litz. Honorary Pallbearers: Junior Ammar, and Dr. Don Scott.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday at the funeral home from 1:00 - 2:00 PM.
The family suggests in lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Bluefield Union Mission, 2203 Bluefield Avenue, Bluefield, WV 24701.
