John Overbay

PRINCETON - John Overbay, 68 of Princeton died Sunday, September 30, 2018. Born March 17, 1950 in Weyanoke he was the son of the late Elbert Overbay and Mamie Rose Overbay.
He was a veteran of the U. S. Army having served in Vietnam in the 101st Airborne. John was a member of the Princeton Moose Club and enjoyed fishing and watching westerns on TV. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Overbay and Billy Overbay; three sisters, Jo Overbay, Dessie Taylor and Ruth Pickett.
Survivors include his wife, Susan Champ Overbay; three children, Stevi Overbay, Micky Overbay and Jamie Thorne and husband Nikolaus all of Princeton; two grandchildren, Adalyn Dees and Ryker Overbay both of Princeton; one brother, Douglas Overbay of Princeton.
A memorial service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, October 11, 2018 at Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home where military honors will be conducted by Mercer County Veterans Honor Guard. Honoring his request the body has been cremated.
Friends may visit with the family from 6-7 p.m. on Thursday, October 11.

I knew John and his family years ago go rest high on that mountain
