PRINCETON John Morrello, 83, of Highland Avenue, Princeton died Tuesday evening, July 11, 2017 at the Beckley VA Medical Center in Beckley with his loving family by his side.
Born June 19, 1934 at Leslie, he was the son of the late Dominick Morrello & Martha Caldwell Morrello.
John graduated from Greenbrier East High School and Barber College in Raleigh, NC.
John had retired at the age of 76, after cutting hair for more than 58 years in Princeton. He was a member of Roger Street Community Church in Princeton.
John had served his country proudly; he was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving with the U.S. Navy.
While his health permitted, he enjoyed fishing, wood working and was an avid WVU Fan for all sports. He loved watching the Washington Redskins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by many of his brothers and sisters.
Those left to cherish his memory, his loving and caring wife of 54 years, Linda Wimmer Morrello, and their four children & their spouses: Angie & Steve Pendleton, Vince & Michelle Morrello, Toney & Robin Morrello, and Dr. Joseph Morrello all of Princeton. His six precious grandchildren; Jordan, Sarah, Abbie, Olivia, Halen & Dominick. Two sisters, Katherine Salgada of AZ and Barbara Morrello of CA.
Memorial Services to celebrate the life of John Morrello will be held 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 18, 2017 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Steve Pendleton officiating. Military honors will be under the direction of the U.S. Navy Honor Guard.
The family has honored John's wishes, his body has been cremated.
