FAIRFAX, Va. — John E. Corbitt, III passed away on March 7, 2017 after a serious illness. He was born in Abingdon, VA, on August 25, 1945 but grew up in Bluefield, WV.
He is survived by his sisters, Ann A. Hines and Virginia G. Shields; Cousins, MaryAnn Cefurio, Tom Corbitt, and Alex Oliver; nephews, Fred Hines, H. Andrews Hines, Cary Hines, Robert Shields and Lewis Shields.
He was predeceased by his father, John E. Corbitt, Jr.; mother, Francis A. Corbitt and his beloved fiancee Margorie Cawley.
He had a long career with Honeywell Corp. and retired in 2006. He was very active and loved to help other people.
A graveside service will be held on Monday March 13, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Maple Park Cemetery in Bluefield with Rev. Chad Slater officiating. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at the cemetery.
