PRINCETON John Leonard Blankenship, 76, of Princeton, died Monday, January 22, 2018 at his home with his Angel by his side. Born April 14, 1941 at Elgood, he was the son of the late John Blankenship and Barbara Ellen Conner Blankenship.
Mr. Blankenship was a member of the Pentecostal Church of God in Princeton. He was retired from Joy Manufacturing. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and enjoyed gardening.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Evelyn Martin and his twin-sister, Pansy Whittaker; and six brothers, Lee, Lewis, Jack, Bill, Arlie and Joe Blankenship.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra Cox Blankenship; two sons, Michael Wayne Blankenship and fiancee, Mandy Blackwell and John L. Blankenship and fiancee, Amanda; two stepsons, Jeffrey Woods of Princeton and Michael Todd Woods and wife Kayla of Princeton; one brother, Sidney Blankenship and wife Frances of Limo, OH; three sisters, Verlie Chambers of Zeigler, IL and Martha Dawley and Sarah Pettrey both of Norfolk, VA; and eight grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 29, 2018 at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. David Barnette officiating.
The family will receive friends Monday, January 29, 2018 from noon until service hour at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton.
