Janet Carol's Story
BLUEFIELD Janet Carol Darnell Murphy, 80, of Hurricane Ridge, Bluefield, died peacefully early Sunday morning, September 10, 2017 at Princeton Community Hospital with her family at her side.
Born August 8, 1937 in Cleveland VA, she was the daughter of the late Harmon Reid McGuire & Mamie Musick McGuire.
She was educated in Mercer County and had served as an OR Technician for both Princeton Community Hospital and Bluefield Regional Medical Center. She later traveled the country as an instructor for OR Technicians at various hospitals.
Carol will be remembered for being a great cook, a wonderful mother, and most of all, a devoted grandmother and great grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands Elijah Darnell & Kenneth Murphy along with two children: Stan Darnell & Michael Darnell, three siblings: Raymond, Larry & Garner McGuire and a sister in law Ila Gaynell Peyton McGuire.
Those left to cherish her memory, two daughters: Regina Darnell Martin of Baltimore MD, Diana Darnell Donahue & husband Joe of Camp Creek, two grandchildren, Derrick Darnell & Lindsay Donahue Redden, four great grandchildren, Paige & Dylan Redden, Shaelyn Donahue & Michael Darnell and her special companion, Jack Warren. Four Siblings: Rod McGuire of FL, Betty Mahorney of OH, Esther Pishner of NC, & Twyla Hersman of Princeton and a host of nieces and nephews.
A private graveside service will be held at the Reid Cemetery at Spanishburg.
