PRINCETON James David Hartwell, 85, of Second Street, Princeton, died Wednesday, December 20, 2017 in Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Born August 4, 1932 in Kimberly, WV, he was the son of the late Julia Morris and Oscar David Hartwell.
James was a retired employee of the West Virginia American Water Company after 43 years of service. He was also a faithful member of Silver Springs Baptist Church, having served as a Deacon and a Sunday School teacher in the past.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his wife, Willie M. Hartwell.
He is survived by a son, Donald Ray Hartwell and wife, Brenda, of Durham, NC; and close friends, Valerie and Rocky Sizemore, of Princeton.
A graveside service will be held 1:00 P.M. Friday (today), December 22, 2017 in the Garden of Ten Commandments, Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Courthouse Rd., Princeton with Pastor Gerald McKinney officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Family and friends are requested to meet at the funeral home today by 12:30 P.M.
