James (Jim) Burton Cure, age 74, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones in Naples, FL on September 3, 2017. Jim was born in Gary, WV to Rose and Buck Cure on May 20, 1943. He graduated from Gary HS in 1961. He was a Marshall University graduate and played football for the Thundering Herd in 1962, '63 & '64. He led Marshall in receiving all three years and was all-MAC (Mid American Conference) in '63 & '64. He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 1965. He was inducted into the Marshall Athletic Hall Of Fame in 1984, which was the inaugural class! In addition to his parents, Jim was proceeded in death by his brothers Robert (Bobby), John (Bones), and Sidney Cure.
Those who survive to cherish his memories includes his beloved Sandra Teichman; his 2 sons Bo Cure, Casey and wife Melissa Cure; sister Delores Jean Cure; several nieces and nephews, Robert (Bojo), Charles, Donald, Robert, and Joseph Bryant also survive.
A celebration of Jim's life will be held Sunday September, 17th at 2:00 P.M. at the Bluefield Elks Golf Course in Bluefield WV.
