Jack Lee Etter PRINCETON Jack Lee Etter, 82, of Rainbow Road (Green Valley), Princeton died Friday, November 30, 2018 at Princeton Community Hospital.
Born October 31, 1936 in Burkes Garden, VA, he was the son of the late Ray Etter & Bessie Melvin Etter Bruce.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1959 serving two years in Italy and received an Honorable Discharge. He was a faithful member and leader at Ceres Baptist Church for many years, serving as deacon, Sunday school director, song leader, children's church worker and in any capacity where he could faithfully serve his Lord and Savior.
Jack was a retired Sales representative for I. J. Institutional Food Services in Knoxville TN. He was the owner of the famous Jumpin Jacks for 20 years, worked in the Bluefield Flea Market with his best friend Jim Harvey for over 20 years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step father George Bruce and a brother James Etter.
Those left to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife of 58 years, Zelma Compton Etter; four sons, Bryon (Tina); Benny (Tammy); Bruce (Julie) & Barry (Angelina). 12 grandchildren: Brandon (Tara), Kevin (Rebekah), Kendall, Isaac, Sarah, Zachary, Jack, Micah, Emma, Hannah, Noah & Abigail. Four great grandchildren: Landon, Kolton, Addyson & Peyton. Siblings Garland Etter, Jane Angles & Rosie Martin.
The family has honored Jack's request, his body has been cremated and a memorial service will be held in the spring of the year.
