Issa Kamil Deeb


Issa Kamil Deeb, 80, of Bonita Springs, FL, passed away on Friday, September 7, 2018. Formerly of Blacksburg, VA and the Bahamas, he had been a Bonita Springs resident for the last three years. He was born November 15, 1937 in Ramé, Palestine, the son of Kamil Issa and Ghossoun (née Khazen) Deeb.
Issa came to the United States when he was 18 years old. He attended college at Bluefield, Concord, and Virginia Tech as he could afford to do so, and graduated with degrees in mathematics and physics. He then worked for 25 years as a Systems Analyst for the Department of Defense. In 1973, Issa was given the DEPARTMENT OF THE ARMY: THE PACE AWARD, FOR EXCELLENT SERVICE. After retiring, he started a construction company which developed a beautiful neighborhood in Blacksburg, VA. He also owned and operated an ABC store in Bluefield, WV while visiting his retirement home in the Bahamas. 3 years ago, when his health began to decline, he and Dorothy moved to Florida.
Mr. Deeb is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Dorothy (née Belcher) Deeb; his beloved children, Jeanette (Michael) Delpercio of Blacksburg, VA and Robert (Cathy) Deeb of Bluefield, WV and Richard (Belinda) Deeb of Buford, GA; his sister and brother, Georgette (the late John) Mickel of Bluefield, WV and Saad (the late Linda) Deeb of Welch, WV; and eight cherished grandchildren, Tony, Joey, Vinny, Camilla, Carson, Camden, Brooke and Braden.
A Memorial Service will be held on October 20 at 2:00 pm at The Christian Life Center, 706 Harding Avenue, Blacksburg, VA.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to The American Kidney Fund. (
Arrangements are being handled by Shikany's Bonita Funeral Home.
