PRINCETON — Ira Daniel Wiley, 96 of Beckley Road, Princeton, formerly of Bent Mountain, Road, Lerona, died Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center.
Born October 22, 1920 in Lerona, he was the son of the late Clarence Walker and Bertha Phillips Wiley.
Ira retired from Concord College where he worked as a custodian. He served the Lord faithfully for many years singing throughout the area in numerous churches, worshipping with area ministers including Rev. Paul Hall whom he and his wife Pansie labored together for nearly 50 years and was of the Baptist faith.
Ira was recognized for his musical ability and the many guitars he built through the years. He was a positive influence on all who came in contact with him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Pansie Mae Wiley and his second wife, Edna Wiley, brother, Otis Trevor Wiley and a step-son, Russell Steele.
Surviving are his son, Barry D. Wiley and his wife Virginia (Jenny); Grandchildren: Barry D. Wiley, II and his wife Beth, Brian Wiley, Christopher Wiley, Brittany Amber and her husband Adam Powers; Great-grandchildren: Kaytlyn Wiley, Brock Wiley, Braden Wiley, Alexandra Wiley, Tanner Powers, Madison Powers and Paislee Powers; Nieces Pat King, Connie Wiley and Robin Wiley; Step-children: Ralph Steele and wife Virginia, Pat Steele, and Robert Steele and wife; Host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday, January 23, 2017 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Ralph Calfee officiating. Burial will follow in the Wiley Cemetery Bent Mountain, Lerona.
Friends may visit with the family Monday from 1:00P.M. until the service hour.
